From Groupon to Square, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz jumps boards.

I dig this tidbit that accompanied last week’s announcement of a Starbuck’s/Sqaure partnership:

Either way, Square seems to be picking up steam — as a payments processor, yes, but also as a sort-of operating system for retailers. That is, notably, the direction Groupon is trying to head in, too. And Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz recently left Groupon’s board, and just joined Square’s.

Speaking of Groupon, this plan to resuscitate their share value is just as sound as their offer to retailers, no? :-)

Groupon coupon from lowboy.
