Real work is actually accomplishing something from... →
I’ve been bitching about saving us from our own tech bubble egos for years. Sure, it’s nice to be in control, but wouldn’t it be so much nicer for things to just work? I’ll take the ease of not worrying about the tools I use to make something happen for the much more advantageous opportunity of actually being able to focus on making something.
To the 1% of people who...

A very funny read if you’ve got 20 minutes to kill.
Choice comments from the Street Boners edition:
“Too-Long is spinning in his grave.”
“I hadn’t seen this before everyone on smoking gun, so I’m neither hip or indignant.”

Where's my music?
One of the key things missing from the iPod/Apple Remote app on the iPhone/iPod Touch is the ability to play my desktop iTunes musey on my phone. Apple’s Remote App allows me to use Airtunes to select Wifi connected speakers throughout the home, but not to output this music through the headphone jack/dock on the iPhone/iPod Touch.
There are apps out there, like Simplify, which allow me to...

Apple's iPad. For the consumer, not the creator.
10 minutes into watching yesterday’s Keynote I was sold. The idea of having so much control over browsing the Web in a laid back environment seems so completely liberating. No more dragging a carpal tunnel inducing mouse around. No more sperm killing laptop boiling your groin. No more reaching under your desk for the power cord because you can’t take your laptop anywhere for more than...

YACHT: THE STORY OF PSYCHIC CITY →
Yacht tells the story of one of my favourite tracks of ‘09, Psychic City, which they based on a 1987 track from Rich Jensen, with additional influences from Althea & Donna to Brian Eno, and more. Lots of words and musey follow the link.

Nice, minimal choreography and sound. Too bad the video quality is so shoddy.

Haiti: Hope, history, hate.
Here’s Bill Clinton’s positive take on Haiti shrouded by John Seiler and Lew Rockwell’s sanction, invasion and the real devil, exposing Clinton as a part of the US regime having contributed to Haitian incapacitation, which is more thoughtfully expanded on by Ashley Smith, including historical detail on US involvement in Haiti and current Clinton involvement, with a digression to...

“Your lives are not worth those of the lowest, meanest, poorest of those victims” in Haiti.
This is the second Olbermann video I’ve seen where he so rightly calls it as it is. Kudos. Sadly, Robertson and Limbaugh have been saying this kind of crap for years and their ignorant followers just eat it up. Such despicable, pandering pricks.

Love Billy’s group factory shots. Sort of like this. And this. Flirted with getting one for behind the sofa in the living room I don’t yet have, but this disaster is complicating matters even more than my lack of a living room.

$2 Million in Donations for Haiti, via Text... →
Mobile giving is sexy:
shaneguiter:
Anyone with a mobile phone and an account with a major wireless carrier can text the phrase “Haiti” to the number 90999 and donate $10 to the Red Cross. That amount is charged to the donor’s cellphone bill.
The texted donations are being handled by a company called mGive, which started the campaign in a joint effort with the State Department and the Red...

A decade ago Martin Amis did some digging into the porn industry. Now, only time will tell what 3D IMAX porn will do to the world.
And here’s more from Regan Starr on basically getting attacked on camera. Is this still a trend?

Shuffle Musey 01. Random music library selections,... →
The challenge: Go to iTunes DJ, delete all the songs, change the source to your entire music library, turn off the setting “Play higher rated music more often”, hit Refresh. Grab about an hour worth of music, in sequence, and mix the tracks. You can change the order, but you have to use all the songs.

"After a decade of 2000s, it’s finally time to... →
Reading this quote brings to mind how music in the 90s compared to the 2000s. And to consider how I followed a similar path as that of music from the 90s through the naughties. Of course, it’s probably more my taste in music which followed this pattern, but let’s ignore that for a moment.
Beginning with grunge and the adoption of hip hop by the white money majority, through to the...
